Break the Chain features a rich interplay of cool tones, dominated by shades of deep blue, mixtures of teal, with accents of white, yellow, green and subtle pinkish hues.
The gold chain that runs vertically across the piece, cutting through the layers of paint adding a sense of movement and contrast. This chain, while organic in nature with slight imperfections, adds depth and meaning to the composition. The break in the long chain is apparent which symbolizes breaking with “something” in life, whether addiction or relationship. The strength of the chain can be compared to the human spirit when subjected to adversity.
